Below is a list of the successful recipients of our April 2021 grants. We have funded various charities demonstrating creative ways to help improve and brighten their communities.

  • Ashford Volunteer Centre – £7,500 – To support an elderly befriending project in Ashford

  • Boughton-Under-Blean Village Hall – £2,500 – To hold free events in the village hall to help elderly and isolated people

  • Broadstairs Town Team Ltd – £5,000 – To continue the activities of supporting elderly isolated people in Thanet

  • Canterbury & Herne Bay Volunteer Centre Ltd – £5,000 – To continue befriending and social transport services to help older people

  • Caring Altogether on Romney Marsh – £5,000 – To provide talking and musical reminiscence services to elderly and isolated people in rural areas suffering from dementia

  • Fairways Accommodation Support Trust – £7,500 – To continue activities of combatting poverty and deprivation in homeless adults

  • Food Friends UK – £5,000 – To help the befriending and meal service being carried out in Whitstable to support elderly and isolated people.

  • Kent Coast Volunteering (KCV) – £5,000 – To recruit a coordinator to run a befriending service to help elderly and isolated people

  • Making a Difference to Maidstone – £5,000 – To maintain services to provide mentoring, food parcels, and necessities to people in Maidstone.

  • Medway African and Caribbean Association – £5,000 – To support senior citizens in Medway by providing them with nutritious meals

  • Medway Volunteer Centre – £5,000 – To help fund a new post to improve the befriending scheme to help elderly and isolated people in Medway

  • Romney Marsh Day Centre – £5,000 – To continue activities of providing advice, activities and meals to prevent social isolation in elderly people

  • Swale Community and Voluntary Services – £5,000 – To support a volunteer transport scheme which provides shopping and medication collection service for free to vulnerable people in the Swale community          

  • Thanet Community Development Trust – £10,000 – To help fund Craft Club, a social inclusion group to help elderly isolated people in Thanet

  • Time For The Homeless – £3,750 – To provide equipment to support homelessness
