Philip and Connie Phillips Foundation and Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust match funding: Frequently asked questions.
What is the match funding partnership?
We are delighted that the Philip and Connie Phillips Foundation has a new match funding partnership with long term Kent funder the Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust. The match funding covers two of our four priority areas: supporting people who are elderly and isolated and supporting people with a long term health condition or disability.
What is the benefit of applying for match funding?
We receive more high quality applications than we can fund. With this new partnership we will be able to support more charities under these priority areas, which will increase applicants’ chance of success. We will also be able to increase the size of some of our grants or offer more multi-year grants.
Do we need to submit additional information to apply for match funding from Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust?
No, the application process and information requested will not change. You can apply as normal through our website and online application form. You will be asked to opt in to be considered for this opportunity, and to confirm data sharing permission between us and Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust so we can process and report on your application.
Who will make decisions on grant applications?
Grant applications will be assessed in the usual way by the trustees of the Philip and Connie Phillips Foundation. We will be drawing down on funds awarded by Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust.
Will there be two sets of reporting required?
No, you will be asked to report back to the Philip and Connie Phillips Foundation in the usual way, with no additional reporting required.
What if we already hold a grant from the Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust?
You will still be able to apply for match funding under this scheme.
Will it affect us being able to apply for a larger sum to the Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust?
No it will not affect any current or future applications to the Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust.
Do we need to take part in the match funding or is it optional?
You can choose whether or not to opt into the match funding initiative when you complete the online application form.
Can we apply for match funding under your other priorities of ‘homelessness’ or ‘strengthening communities’?
Unfortunately, we do not have match funding available under these two priorities, but you can apply in the usual way to the Philip and Connie Phillips Foundation for these grants.
What will happen to the data we agree to share with the Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust?
Your data will be managed in the usual way as set out in our privacy statement and Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust’s privacy statement. We will only share the data necessary to manage any grant and report on the match funding.
